You most likely have heard of a photo-walk. I’ve highlighted them in my newsletter, I’ve organized some and there are countless others who organized and participated in them. They are a great way for photographers and photo-enthusiasts to get together with like-minded people.

After the fact, it can be both fun and educational to compare your pictures with others who went on the walk with you. Inevitably, several people will come away with very similar shots. What’s most instructive is when you see views, scenes, subjects and perspectives that you missed completely when you were there.

This happened to me recently on a photo-walk that ten of us took to Fort Delaware. Fort Delaware is an old Civil War prison on an island in the middle of the Delaware River. Now a wonderful state park, it is the site of historic reenactments and history education. You can view the resulting photos here. As of this writing, only five of the ten participants have posted their photos. Hopefully, the others will share their results too.
