Wonderful Experiment

July 29, 2009

Last night I completed a wonderful and fun experiment. And made a minor spectacle of myself in the process. In a bid to “prove” the claim made by our web site’s new slogan (We can help anyone take more satisfying photos, not matter what kind of camera you use.) I had someone follow me around with a video camera at the Delaware state fair. I took a tiny point-and-shoot pocket camera.

On video, I explained my thought processes as I scouted for pictures to take. I explained my choice of settings and why I selected them. I took some beautiful shots.

Next, we’ll edit the video down for interest and length, embed copies of the final images then post it online. The idea here is for it to be a promotion — a TV commercial of sorts — that will help convince people of the value and practicality of our workshops.

Time will tell how well it works but doing it was so much fun that I think I’d like to do more of them.
