The State of Delaware recently (as in, just yesterday as far as I know) decided to create its own group on Flickr and invite Flickr users to post pictures taken in Delaware. It is a moderated group and you have to agree to the terms. Some of those include that the State may post your pictures on the website without having to pay you.

I know some people seriously balked at that. To each his own. In my case, since I don’t really sell my photos directly anyway, it is a good way to garner some free exposure for my web site. Of course the state is not allowed to provide direct links back to my site (doing so constitutes an endorsement and is prohibited by law) but they do provide click-throughs to the original photos on Flickr. So my way around it is to post my web site URL in the description and tags of every photo.
